College of Tourism

Tourism is considered one of the most important sources of revenue in all countries. It is also considered the main source of revenue in many countries such as Egypt and Lebanon.

The Iraqi government has focused on tourism, particularly the religious sector, as the main source of income so that they can take advantage of it to supplement the state budget as an important source of revenue. One of these attention aspects was the instructions issued by the government to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to open colleges of Tourism Sciences in various universities.

In order to graduate specialized scientific staff in tourism and hotel management institutions in accordance with the standards of quality of higher education, as well as to provide services to the community through which tourism in Iraq is encouraged, the Faculty of Tourism Sciences was established at the University of Mosul as an implementation of the approach adopted by the government to promote tourism in Iraq.

In the 2018-2019 academic year, the college received the first batch of students through the central admission as well as the top ten students in the tourism institutes.
