The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discusses a master thesis titled \u201cMeasuring and Analyzing the Relationship between Oil Revenues, Public Debt, and Economic Growth \u2013 OPEC as a Model for the Period 2004\u20132022.\u201d<\/p>\n

The discussion was attended in part by the Assistant Deans for Scientific and Administrative Affairs.<\/p>\n

The current study, submitted by graduate student Ma\u2019n Sardar Taha from the Department of Economics, aimed to:<\/p>\n

Measure and analyze the trends of key variables, namely oil revenues, public debt, and economic growth.<\/p>\n

Measure and analyze the impact of oil revenues on public debt and economic growth.<\/p>\n

Analyze the causal relationship between these variables.<\/p>\n

The study reached several conclusions, most notably:
\nOil revenues are negatively correlated with public debt and positively correlated with economic growth. This means that increasing oil revenues contribute to reducing public debt levels and enhancing economic growth.<\/p>\n

The discussion committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Khalaf Mohammed Hamad from Tikrit University, and included as members: Assistant Professor Dr. Sara Salem Dawood, Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Wajih Mahdi, and Assistant Professor Dr. Mustafa Fadel Hammadi (who also served as the thesis advisor).<\/p>\n
