He then pursued postgraduate studies at Cairo University, obtaining two higher diplomas in Islamic Sharia and Public Law. He later received his PhD from the University of St. Andrews in the United Kingdom in 1971 for his groundbreaking dissertation titled: \u201cThe Governmental System of the Prophet Mohammed,\u201d a pioneering work in comparative Islamic constitutional law.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Al-Mallah started his teaching career at the University of Mosul in 1965, eventually earning the rank of full professor in 1977\u2014the first to achieve this title in the College of Arts. He held several prominent academic positions, including Dean of the College of Arts, Acting Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, and Acting President of the University of Mosul in 1977. He also served as an advisor to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and contributed to the establishment of numerous postgraduate and research units.<\/p>\n<p>During his tenure as Acting Dean of the College of Administration and Economics (1974\u20131975), Dr. Al-Mallah played a key role in shaping the college\u2019s academic identity during its formative years. He promoted the independence of its academic departments, enhanced the specialization of its curricula, and fostered research aligned with national economic concerns. He also initiated academic collaboration with similar colleges both inside and outside Iraq, laying a clear vision for the role of economics in societal development.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside his administrative work, Dr. Al-Mallah is a prolific scholar, having published over 130 research papers in history, civilization, and law. He has supervised more than 60 master&#8217;s and doctoral theses in Islamic history and constitutional law.<\/p>\n<p>He has also authored more than 16 academic books, including:<br \/>\nThe Government of the Prophet (PBUH),<br \/>\nA Comprehensive Guide to the Prophet\u2019s Biography and the Rightly Guided Caliphate,<br \/>\nA Detailed Study in the Philosophy of History,<br \/>\nThe Hisbah in Islamic Civilization,<br \/>\nand Academic and Societal Issues.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, he contributed to and reviewed over 20 encyclopedias and scholarly references, such as:<br \/>\nThe Civilizational Encyclopedia of Iraq,<br \/>\nThe Mosul Civilizational Encyclopedia,<br \/>\nThe Reference in Arab Nation History,<br \/>\nThe Encyclopedia of Arab and Muslim Figures,<br \/>\nand The Spread of Islam Throughout the World (UNESCO \u2013 Paris, 2011).<\/p>\n<p>He has received numerous awards and honors, including:<br \/>\n\u2022 Arab Historian Medal \u2013 Union of Arab Historians (1986)<br \/>\n\u2022 Honored Professor \u2013 University of Mosul Council (1988)<br \/>\n\u2022 Medal of Science, First Class \u2013 by Presidential Decree (2002)<br \/>\n\u2022 Shield of Creativity and Excellence \u2013 awarded by the College of Arts and various research centers.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Dr. Al-Mallah serves as Professor Emeritus in the Department of History at the College of Arts, University of Mosul. He is also a member of the Iraqi Scientific Academy, Bayt Al-Hikma, and the Arab Council of Academics.
