The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics \u2013 University of Mosul witnessed the defense of a Master\u2019s thesis submitted by the student Bah Freen Jalal Hassan, entitled:
\n\u201cMeasuring and Analyzing the Impact of Some Financial Variables on the Sustainability of Food Security in a Selected Sample of Countries,\u201d held in Discussion Hall No. (1).<\/p>\n

The study aimed to analyze the key financial variables influencing the sustainability of food security, and to clarify the nature of the relationship between these variables and food security sustainability in a selected sample of countries, with a particular focus on the pivotal role of foreign direct investment.<\/p>\n

The findings revealed that foreign direct investment constitutes a supporting factor for food security in high-income countries, as its positive and significant effect was evident in enhancing food sustainability. This underscores the importance of attracting foreign investment to sectors that support food security, whether directly or indirectly.<\/p>\n

The examining committee consisted of: Asst. Prof. Dr. Musab Abdul-Salam Taha \u2013 College of Administration and Economics \/ Al-Hadbaa University \u2013 Chair Asst. Prof. Dr. Iman Mustafa Rashad \u2013 College of Administration and Economics \/ University of Mosul \u2013 Member Asst. Prof. Amina Abdul-Ilah Hamdoon \u2013 College of Agriculture and Forestry \/ University of Mosul \u2013 Member Asst. Prof. Dr. Ruqaya Khalaf Hamad \u2013 College of Administration and Economics \/ University of Mosul \u2013 Member and Supervisor.<\/p>\n

This study aligns with Goal 2 of the Sustainable Development Goals (Zero Hunger), as it confirms that smart financial investments\u2014particularly foreign direct investment\u2014enhance food security and support the sustainability of agricultural and food production in the targeted countries.<\/p>\n
