The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics \u2013 University of Mosul held the defense of a master\u2019s thesis on Sunday, 7 December 2025, entitled: \u201cThe Impact of Investment in Modern Irrigation Technology on Agricultural Productivity in Iraq: The Qayyarah Area \u2013 Nineveh Province as a Case Study.\u201d<\/p>\n

The thesis, submitted by the student Sabrin Saleh Hassan Hazzaa, aimed to analyze the impact of investment in modern irrigation technology and its role in rationalizing water consumption, improving the quality of agricultural crops, and identifying the extent of the spread of modern irrigation techniques, as well as clarifying the nature of farms capable of adopting these technologies in terms of financial capabilities.<\/p>\n

The study reached several conclusions, the most notable of which is that the use of modern irrigation technology is still concentrated in limited projects or large farms with high financial capacity. Despite the limited number of applied experiences, these projects have proven successful in increasing agricultural productivity, improving crop quality, and significantly reducing water consumption.<\/p>\n

The examination committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Saad Mahmoud Khalil, College of Administration and Economics \u2013 University of Mosul, and the membership included: Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Omar Sharif, College of Agriculture \u2013 University of Tikrit, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ruqayya Khalaf Hamad, College of Administration and Economics \u2013 University of Mosul, Asst. Prof. Dr. Iman Mustafa Rashad, College of Administration and Economics \u2013 University of Mosul (member and supervisor).<\/p>\n
