Within the framework of its humanitarian mission and social responsibility, and under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jameel, the Voluntary Work Unit of the Student Activities Division implemented the \u201cHands of Goodness\u201d initiative, which aims to support orphans and persons with special needs and to promote the values of social solidarity and humanitarian work.
\nThe activities of the initiative were carried out on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in the presence of the Dean; the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Abdul Rahman Zuhair Abdul Qader; the Head of the Department of Management Information Systems, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ramadan Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi; along with a number of heads of divisions and administrative units, in addition to several staff members of the College.
\nThe initiative included the donation of floor carpets to the Girls\u2019 Orphanage \u2013 Special Needs Section, located in the Al-Zuhour neighborhood of the city of Mosul. The carpets were installed to cover wide areas of corridors and rooms and were carefully selected in terms of colors and dimensions, in direct coordination with the orphanage administration, in response to the children\u2019s needs and preferences.
\nDuring their meeting with the College delegation, the children of the orphanage expressed their great happiness and gratitude for this humanitarian initiative, which contributed to meeting their needs and bringing joy to their hearts.
\nThis initiative comes in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities) through supporting the most vulnerable groups, and Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by enhancing social solidarity and strengthening partnerships between academic and community institutions.
