The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, the defense of a PhD dissertation in Discussion Hall No. (1), entitled:
\n\u201cThe Impact of Good Governance and Monetary Variables on Portfolio Investment in Selected Countries\u201d
\nby the student Salah Handhal Ahmed Saleh Al-Maamari.
\nThe study aimed to analyze the size and impact of institutional indicators and monetary variables in a group of Asian and emerging countries, and to examine their reflection on portfolio investment and its development using quantitative econometric methods.
\nThe key findings of the study include:
\nThere is a statistically significant effect of institutional and monetary variables in explaining the behavior of portfolio investment.
\nThere are both positive and negative relationships between these variables and portfolio investment in the short and long run across the sample countries.
