The Department of Business Administration at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 the defense of a PhD dissertation in Discussion Hall No. (1). The dissertation, titled:
\n\u201cEmotional Intelligence and Its Role in Enhancing Job Competencies: The Mediating Role of Self-Marketing \u2013 An Analytical Study of the Opinions of a Sample of Faculty Members at the University of Mosul\u201d
\nwas presented by the student: Suhail Luqman Abbas Fattah.
\nThe study aimed to explore the role of emotional intelligence\u2014through its dimensions (self-awareness, self-management, motivation, empathy, and social skills)\u2014in enhancing job competencies, which include (leadership, digital, personal, and productivity competencies). This was examined through the mediating role of self-marketing, represented by (self-confidence and persuasion skills), in addition to identifying the university\u2019s level of attention to these variables.
\nKey findings of the study:
\nThere is a full (complete) mediating role of self-marketing in the relationship between emotional intelligence and job competencies.
\nEnhancing self-marketing skills significantly strengthens the impact of emotional intelligence on developing job competencies among faculty members.
