The Department Council of Management Information Systems (MIS) at the University of Mosul held its regular meeting on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Ramadan Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and attended by members of the department’s faculty.<\/p>\n

\u200bThe meeting followed the 20th session of the College of Administration and Economics Council. That session was attended by the President of the University, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdul-Rahim Ibrahim Jassim, and was chaired by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Muhammad Jamil. The college council session had strongly emphasized supporting the scientific and research journey and enhancing academic rigor.<\/p>\n

\u200bThe department’s meeting addressed several key scientific and organizational tracks, most notably:<\/p>\n

\u200bScientific Publishing and Promotions:<\/b> Emphasizing the importance of scientific publishing within Scopus repositories, alongside following up on academic promotion files for the department’s faculty.<\/p>\n

Adopting English in the Bologna Process:<\/b> Discussing the transition toward adopting the English language in postgraduate programs and for certain undergraduate courses within the framework of the Bologna Process.<\/p>\n

Curriculum Modernization:<\/b> Reviewing and developing curricula to align with the requirements of the specialization, especially after integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and English language courses.<\/p>\n

Faculty Skills Development:<\/b> Highlighting the importance of enhancing the faculty staff’s skills during the summer vacation, with a particular focus on the English language.<\/p>\n

\u200bPostgraduate Thesis Regulation:<\/b> Discussing the guidelines and regulations for organizing the content of postgraduate theses and dissertations to contribute to raising the overall quality of scientific and research outcomes.<\/p>\n
