The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed on Monday, June 15, 2026, a Master’s thesis entitled: “Financial Inclusion and its Implications on Economic Growth for Selected Countries,” submitted by the student Rasool Ahmed Hashem, in Discussion Hall No. (2).<\/p>\n

\u200bThe study aimed to analyze the impact of financial inclusion on economic growth for a number of selected countries during the period (2004\u20132024), based on the hypothesis that there is a significant relationship between financial inclusion indicators and economic growth that varies according to the type of indicator and the time horizon, thereby contributing to a better understanding of the role of financial services in supporting economic activity.<\/p>\n

\u200bThe study reached a set of conclusions, most notably that financial access indicators do not affect economic growth in a uniform manner, as the nature and magnitude of the impact differ between spatial and demographic indicators, reflecting the importance of the measurement method in interpreting the relationship between financial inclusion and economic growth. The results also increased that inefficient geographical expansion of the banking infrastructure may increase operational costs without achieving an effective economic return. Conversely, indicators related to population density\u2014such as the number of branches and ATMs per 100,000 adults\u2014showed a more consistent positive impact, confirming that easing individuals’ access to financial services represents a key factor in stimulating economic growth.<\/p>\n
