The Department of Financial and Banking Sciences at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, witnessed on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, the discussion of the Master’s thesis entitled “Analysis of Digital Financial Awareness Levels: A Survey Study of a Sample of Payment Cardholders at the University of Mosul,” presented by the student Wisam Firas Nabeel Al-Shahin, in Discussion Hall No. (1).<\/p>\n

\u200bThe study aimed to evaluate the status of digital financial awareness among a sample of payment cardholders at the University of Mosul by analyzing its various dimensions, including the security, technological, service, administrative, and financial dimensions, with the goal of diagnosing the level of knowledge and digital skills associated with the use of electronic financial services.<\/p>\n

\u200bThe study reached a number of conclusions, most notably the existence of a disparity in the levels of digital financial awareness among the sample members. The results showed that they possess an acceptable ability to execute basic operations, such as withdrawing salaries and conducting direct financial transfers, compared to the presence of a clear gap in the security, technological, service, administrative, and financial aspects. The study emphasized that the prevailing digital financial awareness is mostly limited to the operational usage dictated by daily needs, and does not rise to the level of comprehensive awareness capable of enhancing self-protection, increasing the efficiency of managing digital financial transactions, and rationalizing the use of modern banking services.<\/p>\n
