\u00a0 Cotton seeds produced from the project aimed at developing promising varieties tolerant to local environmental conditions were ginned on Tuesday, 10 February 2026. These varieties had previously been cultivated in the center\u2019s experimental fields.<\/h3>\n

\u00a0 The ginning process was carried out using the cotton gin available at the Cotton Research Unit of the Technical Agricultural College at Northern Technical University, within the framework of scientific and research cooperation between the two institutions, strengthening academic integration in support of the agricultural sector.<\/h3>\n

\u00a0 The ginning operation was conducted by a team of engineers from the center, including agricultural engineers Hatem Abdul Karim Mohammed, Huthaifa Mahdi Khalil, Baidaa Sadiq Thanoon, and Iman Akram Abdulhakim. The process aims to prepare cotton seeds for the next phase of research studies, in addition to completing the evaluation of fiber quality traits\u2014particularly softness and strength\u2014which will be measured and analyzed following completion of the ginning process.<\/h3>\n

\u00a0 This initiative aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals, most notably Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) through improving productivity of strategic crops; Goal 4 (Quality Education) by strengthening applied research; Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through supporting industries related to cotton production; in addition to Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and Goal 15 (Life on Land) by supporting sustainable agricultural lands and preserving agricultural diversity.<\/h3>\n
