\u00a0\u00a0 Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Mohammed Subhi Mustafa Al-Taweel, Director of the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research organized a workshop entitled \u201cThe Role of Women in Agricultural Development and Scientific Research\u201d<\/em> on Sunday, March 8, 2026. The workshop was held in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning \/ Sustainable Development Unit at the University Presidency and in coordination with the Human Rights Division.<\/h3>\n

\u00a0 The workshop lectures were delivered by Agricultural Engineer Baidaa Sadiq Thunoon and Agricultural Engineer Iman Akram Abdul Hakim. The presentations highlighted the pivotal role of women in supporting agricultural development and promoting scientific research, emphasizing their effective contribution to achieving food security and managing agricultural resources.<\/h3>\n

\u00a0 The workshop aimed to highlight women as strategic actors in the agricultural sector rather than merely participants in the workforce, especially in light of the climatic and economic challenges facing the region. In many rural communities, women represent the backbone of agricultural development, performing multiple roles including managing agricultural resources, preserving local seeds, and contributing to the economic and food stability of families. These roles give women an important developmental dimension that bridges cultural challenges and economic aspirations.<\/h3>\n
