\u00a0\u00a0 In accordance with the experimental biochar program, and within the framework of integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application, a specialized team from the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research (C.AFCAR), including Assist. Lect. Thakir Jasim Mohammed, Agricultural Engineer Sardar Hussein Aswad, Assistant Agricultural Engineer Majid Abdulhamid Mohammed, and Assistant Agricultural Engineer Ismail Hamid Ismail, conducted a field visit to the Bashiqa subdistrict and several of its affiliated villages on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.<\/h3>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 The visit included farmers\u2019 fields benefiting from biochar applications, where a second round of soil assessments was carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of this experimental amendment and to determine the extent of improvements in soil fertility. These activities were implemented in collaboration with the Nineveh Directorate of Agriculture and the World Food program (WFP), as part of ongoing efforts to promote sustainable agricultural practices and enhance food security in the region. This initiative aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), Goal 13 (Climate Action), and Goal 15 (Life on Land).<\/h3>\n
