\u00a0 As part of the efforts to support and develop the agricultural sector in Nineveh Governorate, a scientific team of engineers from the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research (C.AFCAR) conducted a field visit to the farmlands of Al-Nimrud Subdistrict on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. The purpose of the visit was to monitor the growth of barley crops cultivated using both traditional and conservation farming methods in those fields.<\/h3>\n

\u00a0 The visit aimed to collect samples from barley fields grown under the two agricultural systems in order to analyze differences in growth, productivity, water and soil use efficiency, as well as to assess the impact of conservation agriculture techniques on improving soil fertility and reducing environmental degradation compared to traditional farming.<\/h3>\n

\u00a0 The Center affirmed that such field studies represent an important step toward enhancing food security and achieving agricultural sustainability in Nineveh Governorate, as well as realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including: Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), Goal 13 (Climate Action), and Goal 15 (Life on Land).<\/h3>\n
