\u00a0 The Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research conducted the harvesting of wheat genetic line trials from 16 to 18 June 2026 as part of its ongoing research program aimed at developing and evaluating superior wheat varieties adapted to local environmental conditions and capable of achieving high productivity under rainfed farming systems.<\/h3>\n

\u00a0 The trials included genetic materials of both durum and bread wheat supplied by the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA). A total of 348 genetic lines were evaluated and monitored throughout their growth stages in the Center\u2019s research fields located in Al-Qubbah and Shrikhan in Nineveh Province.<\/h3>\n

\u00a0 The experiments were conducted within a comprehensive scientific framework designed to identify the most promising genetic lines based on grain yield potential, adaptation to local growing conditions, and tolerance to climatic and environmental stresses. The collected data will contribute to ongoing breeding efforts aimed at developing improved wheat varieties capable of supporting sustainable agricultural production in dryland environments.<\/h3>\n
