\u00a0 A specialized team, led by Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Taweel, the Director of the AFCAR Center, commenced on Tuesday, June 23 to 24, 2026, to harvest a number of promising wheat varieties cultivated within the Genetic Structure Propagation Project Western Mosul. This initiative forms part of the center’s efforts to develop high-yielding varieties adapted to local environmental conditions, thereby contributing to the enhancement of food security, the support of the agricultural sector, and the provision of a distinguished genetic base that can be relied upon in breeding and genetic improvement programs. Ultimately, this work aims to develop new wheat varieties characterized by high productivity and water-use efficiency that align with the requirements of sustainable agriculture in arid and semi-arid regions.<\/h3>\n

\u00a0 This activity within the framework of AFCAR Center\u2019s plans to support applied research and develop modern agricultural technologies, thereby strengthening the agricultural sector’s capacity to confront climatic challenges and achieve sustainable agricultural development.<\/h3>\n
