The main reason for its establishment was the scarcity of paper resources at that time. Iraq officially took over the library from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in 2011, and its funding became 100% Iraqi. The electronic library across Iraq is managed by the Danish company, Simpertool.<br \/>\n\u200bAs for the supporter of the virtual library, the American institution EBSCO is the virtual library&#8217;s supporter.
