As part of the enduring efforts of the Deanship of the College of Archeology at the University of Mosul to advance the scientific and academic reality to different stages, and openness to reputable international universities, and in implementation of the terms of the agreement concluded between both the University of Mosul and the German Heidel-Berke University, which was signed at the beginning of February of this year, the training course was launched on Tuesday, 4\/16\/2024, and it was entitled \u201cDeveloping the Skills of Reading and Translating Cuneiform Writings,\u201d in which a number of undergraduate students from the College of Archeology\/ University of Mosul, and a number of employees of the Nineveh Governorate Antiquities and Heritage directorate participated in. The lecture was delivered by Professor (Stephen Maul), President of the Assyritics Institute at Heidelberg University in Germany, the course aims to develop students\u2019 skills and enhance their scientific capacities to read cuneiform writings by intensively studying the grammar of the Akkadian language, memorizing cuneiform signs, and practicing how to implement them on clay, in addition to receiving various lectures on the history and civilization of Mesopotamia. The program also includes The course includes field tours of important archaeological sites in Nineveh Governorate, noting that this course will continue until Monday, May 13, 2024.<\/h3>\n
