The doctoral thesis entitled \u201cTypes of economic texts and their formulas in the era of Ur III in the light of published and unpublished cuneiform texts\u201d in the Department of Ancient Iraqi Languages \u200b\u200bat the college of Archeology, University of Mosul, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 was defended by its researcher.
\nPart the viva defense was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Yasser Jaber Khalil, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs
\nThe thesis submitted by the student (Osama Muhammad Khorshid) aims to shed light on the most important types of cuneiform documents, identify the most important Sumerian formulas and verbs contained in these documents, as well as analyze the structure of the economic cuneiform text, and highlight the elements of similarity or difference in formulas between contemporary Sumerian cities.
\nThe researcher reached a number of conclusions, the most important of which is that the acceleration of the economy in Mesopotamia led to a diversity of economic documents, which led the Sumerian scribes to find and invent vocabulary, terms, sentences, and formulas to facilitate the documentation of economic transactions.
\nMost of the actual or nominal formulas related to economic transactions appeared since the dawn of the Sumerian dynasties. The study also showed that some Sumerian formulas for economic transactions in the Babylonian periods were not common in Sumerian times.<\/h3>\n

The viva committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Abdel Rahman Younis Abdel Rahman, and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Khaled Haider Othman, Assistant Professor Dr. Ari Khalil Kamel from Saladin University, college of Arts, Department of Archeology, Assistant Professor Dr. Shaima Walid Abdel Rahman, and Assistant Professor Dr. Hassanein Haider Abdel Wahed, under the supervision of And the membership of Professor Dr. Muayyad Muhammad Suleiman.<\/h3>\n
