Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Archaeology, Professor Dr. Yasmine Abdul Karim Muhammad Ali, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Archaeology held a workshop entitled (The Importance of Assyrian Medical Texts and Their Classifications) delivered by Professor Dr. Mu’ayyad Suleiman Muhammad, a lecturer in the Department of Ancient Iraqi Languages, in Dr. Bahnam Abu Al-Suf Hall on Thursday, January 30, 2025. The workshop was attended by a number of lecturers and students of the College of Archaeology
\nDr. Mu’ayyad Suleiman Muhammad discussed the types and classifications of medical texts discovered in the library of the Assyrian King Ashurbanipal in the city of Nineveh, noting that these texts were copied from several cities in ancient Iraq. He also discussed the organization of cuneiform medical texts and the patterns of their recording by scribes specializing in these texts, and their medical terminology<\/h3>\n
