As part of the activities of the College of Archaeology, under the supervision and follow-up of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Yasmin Abdul Karim Muhammad Ali, the College of Archaeology, through its University Psychological Counseling Division, in coordination with the College’s Media and Government Communication Division, and in cooperation with the Presidency of the University of Mosul, Department of Studies and Planning, Sustainable Development Unit, and the Nineveh Anti-Narcotics Office, organized a workshop entitled “With Science We Eliminate Drugs.” The workshop was presented by Professor Falah Mahdi, Director of Media for the Nineveh Anti-Narcotics Office, on Monday, December 15, 2025. The workshop addressed the dangers of drugs and their effects on the individual and society, and highlighted methods of combating and reducing their spread, by explaining prevention and treatment mechanisms and promoting community awareness of the dangers of drug use and trafficking. The workshop also addressed the types of drugs prevalent and methods of their distribution, in addition to outlining the health, psychological, and social harms caused by addiction. The workshop also touched upon the most important laws and penalties related to combating drugs in Iraq, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between security institutions and the community to reduce this scourge and protect young people from its dangers. This workshop comes within the University of Mosul’s efforts to invest its scientific and research capabilities to support the community in confronting the danger of drugs, and to promote a conscious university environment capable of facing contemporary behavioral and social challenges.<\/h3>\n
