A Brief description of the department<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Department of French<\/strong> at the College of Arts, University of Mosul<\/strong>, was established in 1973-1974<\/strong> as a section within the Department of European Languages. It gained independent departmental status in 1979<\/strong>. Since its inception, the department has successfully graduated over 1,500 students<\/strong> with a Bachelor’s degree in French Language and Literature, and more than 50 students<\/strong> with a Master’s degree in French Language and Literature. Currently, the department has 28 faculty members<\/strong>, the majority of whom hold a Master’s degree<\/strong> in French Language and Literature. There are two faculty members with doctoral degrees. Additionally, one faculty member is currently on a scholarship pursuing doctoral studies in Brest, France<\/strong>. The primary objective of the department is to train graduates at both the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels<\/strong> in French Language and Literature. This aims to meet the country’s needs for French teachers in secondary schools, as well as for translators and interpreters, and to fulfill the requirements of the job market. Student Enrollment Trends. <\/strong>The number of students enrolled in the Department of French at the University of Mosul over the last three academic years is as follows:<\/h4>\n
