A PHD dissertation entitled (The Action Reality of Nineveh Provincial Council and its Societal Dimensions) was discussed at the Department of Sociology, college of Arts, on September 4, 2023, with the attendance of a number of the college scholars and postgraduate students.
\nThe dissertation, presented by Hussein Ali Haji, addressed the action reality of the Iraqi local councils, the Ninawa\u00a0 provincial council in particular, as the post-2014 changes have produced a number of phenomena along with social, political and economical problems. Those problems represent challenges before the Ninawa Provincil Council. As a result, the council is required to face and resolve them to prevent the aggravation of returning to the legislative side and exercising the supervisory role. In addition, the study identified the contributions of the council in both the legislative as well as the supervisory sides.
