The Arabic Language Department at the College of Arts, University of Mosul held a viva session to examine a PhD dissertation on “The Language of Tribes and Countries in Al-Saghani’s “Al-Ubab al-Zakhir wal-Lubab Al- Fakhir ” (650 H): Study and Lexicology” by Musab Tariq Bahir Smer Al-Hayali on Sunday 12 May 2024.
\nPart of the session was attended by the Dean Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ali Mohammed Afeen and a number of academics.
\nThe dissertation in the field of Linguistics and Arabic Lexicology aims to write a dictionary for the languages and countries from Al-Saghani’s dictionary
\nAl-ubab al-zakhir wal-lubab al-fakhir ” (650 H). It also aims at studying the four linguistic levels of the languages investigated: phonological, morphological, syntactic, and semantic .
\nThe viva session was presided by Prof. Dr. Nawfal Ali Majeed Al-Rawi of Mosul University, and membership of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Thanoon Younis of Mosul University , College of Education for Girls.
