<\/p>\nProf. Dr. Wafa Abdullatif Abdulaali, a teaching professor in the English Language Department at the College of Arts, University of Mosul, chaired the discussion committee for a master’s thesis at the University of Basra. The thesis, titled “The Place in Sam Shepard\u2019s Selected Plays: A Geocritical Study,” was presented by student Ahmed Hatem Abadi under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein Hashem. The committee also included Asst. Prof. Dr. Samer Talib Daoud and Asst. Prof. Alaa Hussein Sharhan. The discussion took place on Sunday, June 23, 2024, in Al-Farazdaq Hall, College of Arts, University of Basra. The study examined the impact of the physical environment on the main characters in Shepard’s plays. The study concluded that place has an impact on the psychology of the main characters within the four plays, and that critical geography as an analytical and theoretical tool was applied to analyze the four plays of Sam Shepard.<\/p>\n
