The Department of Sociology at the College of Arts at Mosul University discussed the higher diploma thesis \/ peacebuilding studies entitled: (The role of official media in building peace – a field study in the city of Mosul),on Monday, December 9th, 2024 with the attendance of number of the department instructors as well as a number of postgraduate students. The thesis, submitted by Hanaa Hussam Abdul Latif, dealt with the importance of the role and impact of official media in strengthening the frameworks of societal peace. The media has a pioneering and important role in consolidating and increasing societal awareness of the issue of peacebuilding and peaceful coexistence and the reflection of the outcome on the security, stability and well-being of all members of society. The researcher chose the city of Mosul as a spatial area to test the hypotheses of her study.
\nThe discussion committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Khalil Muhammad Hussein from the College of Arts \/ University of Mosul.
