On Monday, June 16, 2025<\/strong>, the Department of Sociology at the College of Arts held a defense for a PhD dissertation titled “Societal Challenges and Their Impact on the Job Performance of Workers in the Iraqi Youth and Sports Sector: A Field Study in Mosul City.” The defense was attended by Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Tai, Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Firas Abbas Fadil, Head of the Department, and several faculty members.<\/p>\n

The study, presented by Omar Hussein Shams Al-Din<\/strong>, a student in the Sociology Department, examined the most prominent societal challenges and their implications for the job performance of individuals working in Iraq’s youth and sports sector, with a specific focus on Mosul city.<\/p>\n

The dissertation aimed to uncover the key societal challenges and their repercussions on the professional output of employees within the youth and sports sector in Iraq, as explored through a field study conducted in Mosul.<\/p>\n
