On Monday, July 8, 2025, the Department of Sociology at the College of Arts discussed a Master’s thesis titled “Social Factors Influencing the Guidance of Children Towards University Education: A Field Study in Al-Shirqat District.” The session was attended by Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Tai, Dean of the College, Dr. Firas Abbas Fadhel, Head of the Department, and several faculty members.<\/p>\n

The study, submitted by student Abd al-Razzaq Yassin Owaid al-Jubouri in the Department of Sociology, examined the social and psychological factors influencing families in Al-Shirqat District to guide their children toward higher university education, along with the societal impacts and driving factors behind this guidance.<\/p>\n

The thesis aimed to identify these factors based on social, economic, and political variables, which are relative and change according to societal circumstances. The researcher selected the community of Al-Shirqat District as the human subject for testing the study’s hypotheses.<\/p>\n
