In an instance of international academic collaboration, Assistant Professor Dr. David Wright<\/b> from the School of Arts and Humanities at Nottingham Trent University, UK, served on the examining committee for a master’s thesis in the English Language Department at the College of Arts.<\/p>\n

The thesis, titled “An Error Analysis of Online English Language Instructors\u2019 Performance<\/b>,” was defended on Monday, August 4, 2025<\/b>. The defense was attended by Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Tai, Dean of the College, Dr. Salih Abdullah Abdulrahman, Head of the Department, and several faculty members.<\/p>\n

Presented by student Mustafa Mahmoud Abdullah Al-Nuaimi, the study addressed the categories of linguistic errors made by English language teachers in online instruction. It posited that these errors often stem from inadequate linguistic training and a lack of sufficient professional qualification, which negatively impacts students’ proficiency and proper language acquisition.<\/p>\n

The study aimed to classify these errors and analyze their causes, with a focus on the influence of teachers’ social, linguistic, and gender backgrounds. The goal was to provide recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of online English language education and improve teachers’ linguistic performance.<\/p>\n
