The Department of Sociology at the College of Arts recently held a defense for a Higher Diploma thesis<\/b> titled “The Impact of Rumors on Peacebuilding in Iraqi Society Post-2014: A Field Study from the Perspective of University of Mosul Faculty<\/b>.”<\/p>\n

The defense took place on Wednesday, October 1, 2025<\/b>. The Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Tai<\/b>, was present for a portion of the session.<\/p>\n

The study, presented by student Rahma Abdulaziz Taha Al-Azzawi<\/b> of the Sociology Department, focused on rumors and their repercussions for peacebuilding<\/b> after 2014. Specifically, it addressed the mechanisms of their spread, methods of resistance, various types of rumors, strategies for their detection, and countermeasures<\/b>.<\/p>\n
