<\/p>\nThe Department of French Language at the College of Arts \u2013 University of Mosul welcomed the new French Consul General in Mosul, Mr. Fabrice Desplanches, last week. This official visit was his first to the university, succeeding the former Consul General, Mr. Jean-Christophe Aug\u00e9.<\/p>\n
He was received by the Head of the Department of French Language, Assistant Professor Ahmad Amin Tawfiq, and several department faculty members. An introductory meeting was held, bringing the Consul together with the department’s staff, and both postgraduate and undergraduate students.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, Mr. Desplanches expressed his pleasure at visiting the department, commending its prominent role in promoting the presence of the French language and culture in the city of Mosul. He also affirmed the French Consulate’s commitment to supporting academic and cultural cooperation with the University of Mosul.<\/p>\n
The visit also included a tour of the department’s facilities and direct meetings with students, who expressed their appreciation for the visit, which contributes to strengthening cultural and academic ties and enhancing the standing of the French language at the university.<\/p>\n
