The Department of Arabic Language at the Faculty of Arts successfully discussed a Master’s thesis concerning “Suspense in Jihad Al-Rajabi’s Novel, The Desert<\/i>” on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. The defense was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahad Al-Tai, the Head of the Department, Dr. Ahmed Saleh Younis, and several faculty members.<\/p>\n

The study, presented by student Saif Mohammed Baath Fahmi Al-Zubaidi, explored the concept of suspense (Al-Tashweeq) within Al-Rajabi’s novel. The thesis was structured into two main chapters:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Chapter One: Addressed Thresholds, Naming, and Temporal Overlap.<\/li>\n
  2. Chapter Two: Focused on the techniques of Surprise and Suspenseful Narrative Redundancy (Elaboration).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The primary objective of the research is to analyze the literary techniques used to engage the reader and motivate them to complete the novel.<\/p>\n
