The Department of History at the College of Arts discussed a Master’s thesis titled “Hospitality Traditions in Al-Andalus (138-897 AH \/ 756-1492 CE)” on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. The Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Ta’i, the Head of the Department, Dr. Salih Mahmoud Saeed, and a number of the College’s faculty members attended part of the defense.<\/p>\n

The study, presented by student As’ad Siddiq Khattab in the History Department, addressed the role of hospitality in Al-Andalus, including the places of reception, the serving of food and drink, the offering of gifts and money, and the provision of necessary protection for the guest.<\/p>\n

The study aims to highlight the most prominent hospitality traditions followed in Al-Andalus and their role in creating an atmosphere of interaction and peaceful coexistence.<\/p>\n
