The Department of History at the Faculty of Arts hosted a Doctoral dissertation defense titled “History of Sub-Saharan Africa in Arabic and Arabized Studies” on Thursday, December 30, 2025. Part of the session was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Tai, the Head of the History Department, Dr. Mahmoud Saleh Saeed, and several faculty members. The study, presented by the doctoral candidate Miqdad Younis Ahmed Al-Chalabi, aims to monitor economic systems, social structures, and the role of Islam and local culture in shaping the civilizational identity of the region.
