The delegation was received by Mr. Mohammed Ehrees, Member of the Provincial Council, in the presence of Ms. Nadia Nasser Al-Jubouri, Council Member, and Mr. Aswann Al-Hadidi, Advisor to the Governor of Nineveh.<\/p>\n
During the session, the Syndicate presented a comprehensive memorandum outlining the legal and constitutional rights of academic faculty. Primary focus was placed on the Civil Service Land Allocation file. The delegation expressed a firm stance against the prolonged marginalization of the academic sector\u2014noting that many faculty members have not received their state-mandated land entitlements since 1995\u2014despite their pivotal role in nation-building and the advancement of scientific institutions.<\/p>\n
Representatives of the Nineveh Provincial Council expressed clear understanding and support for these grievances. Consequently, a high-level meeting was scheduled with the Governor of Nineveh, Mr. Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil, for Sunday, January 18, 2026, to finalize discussions and initiate the necessary administrative measures to resolve this outstanding issue.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the Syndicate proposed several strategic projects aimed at enhancing the governorate\u2019s service and developmental sectors. The delegation reaffirmed its commitment to mobilizing academic expertise across various disciplines to support decision-makers and serve the public interest through robust institutional cooperation.<\/p>\n
The Iraqi Academics Syndicate \u2013 Nineveh Branch concluded by emphasizing that these demands constitute non-negotiable constitutional and legal rights. The Syndicate asserted its prerogative to pursue all legitimate legal and administrative channels to ensure a serious response, thereby safeguarding the professional dignity and entitlements of the academic community.<\/p>\n
