On Sunday, January 18, 2026, the Department of Translation at the College of Arts held a public defense for a Master\u2019s thesis titled “The Translation of Accusative of Specification in the Noble Qur’an into English.”<\/b> The session was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hatim Fahd al-Ta\u2019i, along with several faculty members.<\/p>\n

The study, presented by graduate student Karam Ali Hamid Ahmed<\/b>, explores the linguistic nuances of translating the “Accusative of Specification” (at-Tamyiz<\/i>) from the Holy Qur\u2019an into English. The research utilized Nida\u2019s Model of Translation<\/b> to evaluate how effectively the original meaning is conveyed across different languages and cultures.<\/p>\n

Objectives<\/h3>\n

The primary goal of the research was to analyze English translations of Qur\u2019anic verses containing the Tamyiz<\/i> structure. By doing so, the researcher aimed to determine the extent to which translators succeeded in capturing the intended divine meaning and the grammatical precision of the Arabic text.<\/p>\n
