The College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis on “The Educational Preparation of the Mamluks in the Mamluk Era (648-923 AH \/ 1250-1715 AD)” on Thursday, September 4, 2025, in the Umm al-Rabi’in Hall at the college. The thesis, submitted by the student Lubna Mahfouz Younis from the History Department, aimed to shed light on an aspect rarely addressed by modern studies, namely the educational dimension in the lives of the Mamluks, who constituted an important pillar in building the state, not only from a military and political perspective, but also in terms of cognitive formation.<\/span>
\nThis study came in three main chapters. The first chapter dealt with the stages of preparation and training of the Mamluks, starting from their selection until their integration into the military and social structure. The second chapter focused on their military and political role and how they contributed to shaping the features of governance and administration in the state. In the third chapter, the educational institutions that embraced them and the upbringing methods they received were addressed, which contributed to shaping their leadership<\/span>
\nand intellectual personalities.<\/span>
\nThe study reached several results, including: Military education was an integral part of the educational system, as combat skills were integrated with religious values \u200b\u200band behavioral discipline, which led to the building of an integrated personality that combines strength, loyalty and discipline.<\/span>
\nThe discussion committee was chaired by Professor Dr. (Fathi Salem Hamidi), and the membership of each of Professor Dr. (Raed Amir Abdullah), Assistant Professor Dr. (Ahlam Saleh Wahb), and Professor Dr. (Faiz Ali Bakhit) as a member and supervisor.<\/span><\/p>\n
