The College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul discussed a master\u2019s thesis on \u201cThe Relationship of the Rulers of Andalusia with the Berbers in the Eras of the Emirate and the Caliphate through the Book Al-Bayan Al-Mughrib fi Akhbar Al-Andalus wa Al-Maghrib by Ibn Adhari (alive in 712 AH\/1312 AD)\u201d on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in the Political Science Hall.<\/span>
\nThe thesis submitted by the student (Aya Muwaffaq Muhammad Ali Hussein) [History Department \/ Islamic History Specialization] aimed to address the existing knowledge gap in the field of historical and social studies related to the Berber families in Andalusia, as these families have not received sufficient research and analysis despite their active role in various political, military and social fields. This study comes to shed light on the origins of these families, their historical paths, and their connections with other social and political forces, in addition to highlighting their contributions to shaping the structure of Andalusian society and participating in creating the major transformations that Andalusia witnessed, including political transformations. Through this approach, the study does not seek to merely collect information, but rather to conduct an in-depth analysis of the relationships and historical extensions of these families, which allows for a more comprehensive understanding of the role of the Berbers in Andalusian history and enriches the field of studies related to the history of the Islamic West.<\/span>
\nThe study included an introduction, five chapters, appendices, a conclusion, and conclusions. The first chapter dealt with the conditions of the Berbers before the era of the emirate and their places of settlement. The second chapter focused on the Berber rebellions, specifically in the era of the emirate. The third chapter was devoted to shedding light on the relationship of the influential Berber families with the rulers of Andalusia. The fourth chapter dealt with the relationship of the Berbers with the rulers of Andalusia during the era of the Amirid state. The fifth chapter dealt with the relationship of the rulers of Andalusia with the Berbers from the end of the Amirid state until the end of the era of the Caliphate. The study ended with a presentation of the conclusion, which included a set of conclusions that the study produced and produced.<\/span><\/p>\n
