{"id":42296,"date":"2026-06-09T03:42:23","date_gmt":"2026-06-09T03:42:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uomosul.edu.iq\/en\/basiceducation\/?p=42296"},"modified":"2026-06-09T03:42:23","modified_gmt":"2026-06-09T03:42:23","slug":"masters-thesis-at-the-college-of-basic-education-on-al-zajjajs-grammatical-views-in-al-wahidis-al-tafsir-al-basit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uomosul.edu.iq\/en\/basiceducation\/2026\/06\/09\/masters-thesis-at-the-college-of-basic-education-on-al-zajjajs-grammatical-views-in-al-wahidis-al-tafsir-al-basit\/","title":{"rendered":"Master\u2019s Thesis at the College of Basic Education on Al-Zajjaj\u2019s Grammatical Views in Al-Wahidi\u2019s Al-Tafsir Al-Basit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul discussed a Master\u2019s thesis entitled \u201cAl-Zajjaj\u2019s Grammatical Views in Al-Wahidi\u2019s Al-Tafsir Al-Basit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The thesis, submitted by Alaa Jassim Mohammed Omar from the Department of Arabic Language, aimed to collect Al-Zajjaj\u2019s grammatical opinions mentioned in Al-Wahidi\u2019s Al-Tafsir Al-Basit, examine them through a descriptive and analytical approach, demonstrate their impact on interpreting Qur\u2019anic meanings, and discuss and evaluate the different viewpoints.<\/p>\n<p>The thesis addressed several topics, including: an introduction to Al-Zajjaj, an introduction to Al-Wahidi, Al-Zajjaj\u2019s views as presented by Al-Wahidi, and Al-Zajjaj\u2019s opinions concerning nouns, verbs, and particles.<\/p>\n<p>The study reached several findings, the most significant of which was Al-Wahidi\u2019s extensive reliance on Al-Zajjaj\u2019s grammatical opinions. He drew heavily upon Al-Zajjaj\u2019s book The Meanings of the Qur\u2019an and Its Grammatical Analysis and benefited greatly from it. Regarding his method of presenting Al-Zajjaj\u2019s views, Al-Wahidi often compared them with those of other linguists, particularly Al-Farra\u2019, highlighting areas of agreement and disagreement. Al-Zajjaj belonged to the Basran school and strongly supported its approach, whereas Al-Farra\u2019 belonged to the Kufan school. Nevertheless, Al-Zajjaj followed and agreed with Al-Farra\u2019 on certain issues, including the use of demonstrative pronouns as relative pronouns and the employment of some grammatical terms such as al-jahd (negation).
