The College of Computer Science and Mathematics \/ Continuing Education Unit held a training course entitled “Getting Started with R,” presented by Dr. Manal Abdul Karim Zeidan and Dr. Saleh Muayad Shaker, from February 8th to 12th, 2026. The course targeted faculty members and researchers as part of the college’s efforts to develop research and analytical skills and promote the use of modern statistical tools.<\/p>\n
The course aimed to introduce participants to the R programming language as one of the most powerful statistical tools for data analysis and visualization. It covered the fundamentals of the R language, how to work with data, how to conduct statistical analyses, and how to create graphs in a practical and simplified manner that supports scientific research.<\/p>\n
The course included practical modules that focused on employing statistical programming in the analysis of scientific and research data, contributing to raising the efficiency of faculty members and researchers and enabling them to use modern digital tools in their academic work.<\/p>\n
This course contributes to achieving several Sustainable Development Goals, including:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Goal 4: Quality Education, by developing digital and analytical skills, enhancing research and analytical capabilities, and supporting data-driven learning.<\/p>\n
