The system relies on the <strong>Python<\/strong> language to provide interactive solutions that ensure the restoration of fine document details and enhance their quality, thereby supporting digital archiving processes and Optical Character Recognition (<strong>OCR<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The study addressed<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0:The technical problems affecting digital copies through two primary paths:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The First Path:<\/strong> Focused on <strong>Denoising<\/strong> by conducting a technical comparison of advanced models such as (<strong>DRUNet, DnCNN, and TV<\/strong>) at varying noise levels, in addition to automatic <strong>Deskewing<\/strong> of pages.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Second Path:<\/strong> Focused on handling complex degradation, such as <strong>Shadow Removal<\/strong>, by comparing classical methods with the proposed <strong>DRUNet<\/strong> method, as well as addressing <strong>Blur\/Haze<\/strong> using the proposed <strong>Soft Enhancement<\/strong> method.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The study aims to \u00a0:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Process Multiple Distortions:<\/strong> Designing a processing chain that independently handles noise, blur, uneven lighting, shadows, and page skew.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Maintain Fine Details:<\/strong> Ensuring no loss of fine text or character boundaries during processing while preserving the contrast and structural integrity of the document.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Improve Usability:<\/strong> Enabling documents to work efficiently with Optical Character Recognition (<strong>OCR<\/strong>) systems, archiving, and digital indexing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Evaluate Model Effectiveness:<\/strong> Testing modern algorithms such as <strong>DRUNet<\/strong> and <strong>DnCNN<\/strong>, alongside traditional correction methods, to ensure result quality under diverse real-world conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The discussion committee consists of<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Salih<\/strong> (Chairman)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dr. Ikhlas Abdul-Jabbar Sultan<\/strong> (Member)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dr. Hasan Maher Ahmed<\/strong> (Member and Supervisor)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Discussion of the Diploma Research in the College of Computer Science and Mathematics &#8211; Department of Software entitled: supervised by Dr. Hasan Maher Ahmed &nbsp; The thesis addressed \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0: The design and development of an integrated software framework aimed at processing the visual and structural degradation of digitally archived documents.
