As part of the Leadership Week activities organized by the University of Mosul, and within the “Success Stories” segment, Baraa Fahmi Ahmed Al-Qazzaz, a first-year student in the Artificial Intelligence Department at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, reviewed his academic journey and local and international achievements, which have served as a shining example for Iraqi youth in the fields of innovation and technology.<\/p>\n
The student highlighted his historic experience of representing Iraq for the first time at the World Robot Olympiad (WRO 2024) in Turkey, winning the bronze medal and setting a national precedent in the history of Iraqi participation in this global event since its inception in 2004. He also mentioned achieving second place globally in the International Artificial Intelligence Competition held by the Northern Technical University, in addition to achieving advanced rankings in national robotics and artificial intelligence championships.<\/p>\n
He highlighted his academic standing as the youngest accredited reviewer for the international journal *Computers in Biology and Medicine*, published by Elsevier and ranked in the first quartile (Q1) of Scopus and Clarivate indexes\u2014a scientific achievement reflecting the high level of academic confidence in his research capabilities.<\/p>\n
He also showcased several of his pioneering projects, including a hybrid system for the early detection of breast cancer with high accuracy, technological projects employing artificial intelligence to serve education and the Arabic language, and innovative, application-oriented smart platforms.<\/p>\n
