{"id":43241,"date":"2026-08-18T17:23:20","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T17:23:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uomosul.edu.iq\/en\/computerscience\/?p=43241"},"modified":"2026-08-19T09:33:55","modified_gmt":"2026-08-19T09:33:55","slug":"1-704","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uomosul.edu.iq\/en\/computerscience\/2026\/08\/18\/1-704\/","title":{"rendered":"master\u2019s thesis by &#8221; Radwan Amir Abdullah Najeeb &#8221; Department of Computer Science"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Master\u2019s Thesis Defense at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics \u2013 Department of Computer Science for the student<br \/>\n<strong>(Radwan Amer Abdullah)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Master\u2019s thesis was discussed in the Discussion Hall at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, University of Mosul, on Tuesday, <strong>18\/8\/2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Master\u2019s Thesis entitled:<br \/>\n<strong>\u201cSustainable Traffic Congestion Monitoring in a Smart City Using Real-Time Streaming Data\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By the student: <strong>\u201cRadwan Amer Abdullah\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\nSupervised by: <strong>Prof. Dr. Dhuha Basheer Abdullah Albazaz<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The thesis addressed:<\/strong> Monitoring traffic congestion in smart cities using real-time streaming data and Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs).<\/p>\n<p><strong>The study discussed:<\/strong> Comparing four vehicular mobility models with five routing protocols using NetLogo simulation and statistically analyzing the results.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The thesis aimed to:<\/strong> Develop a reusable simulation framework for generating large-scale, real-time streaming traffic data, measure the trade-offs between mobility models and routing protocols, and provide recommendations for selecting the most appropriate strategy according to delivery time, message cost, and coverage area.<\/p>\n<p>This thesis contributes most directly to <strong>Sustainable Development Goal 11 \u2013 Sustainable Cities and Communities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Supporting more efficient urban transportation through real-time congestion monitoring and improving the flow of traffic information.<\/li>\n<li>Contributing to reducing the indirect environmental impact of traffic congestion through more efficient and sustainable traffic management.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting a scalable intelligent transportation infrastructure that balances communication speed, network load, and spatial coverage.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>The discussion committee consists of <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Prof. Dr. Manar Younis Ahmed\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0(<\/strong><strong>Chairman)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Asst.
