On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, a Master’s thesis entitled “Effects of Modifying Orthodontic Adhesive by Thymus Vulgaris and Lavandula Angustifolia Essential Oils on Shear Bond Strength of the Brackets” was discussed in the Department of Pedodontics, Orthodontics and Preventive\u00a0 at the College of Dentistry \/ University of Mosul.\u00a0 The thesis was submitted by the student (Reem Thamer Mosleh Muhammad) aimed to study the effects of modifying the orthodontic adhesive by the essential oils of thyme and lavender seeds on the shear bond strength of orthodontic brackets. The study concluded that lavender, especially the concentration of 1%, may not affect the shear bond strength or the compressive strength of the orthodontic adhesive. In return , thyme reduced the shear and compressive strength of the adhesive.\u00a0 On the other hand, the results of infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy showed no chemical changes in the properties of the adhesive.\u00a0 The discussion committee consisted of:<\/p>\n
