Oral viva of master thesis at the Department of Pedodontics\/ Orthodontics

\nCollege of Dentistry discussed M.Sc. Thesis entitled \u201cEffects of Incorporating
\nSesamum indicum and Vitis vinifera Essential Oils in Preventive Paste after
\nBracket Debonding: An In Vitro Study\u201d, on Monday, 5 May 2025 forwarded by
\nNoor Natheer Abdulqader. The study aimed to evaluate the remineralization
\npotential of Sesamum indicum and Vitis vinifera seed oils incorporated in a
\nprepared paste with different concentrations and to compare it with casein
\nphosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate fluoride paste on enamel caries
\ninduced in bracket deboned tooth surface. The study concluded that Sesamum
\nindicum and Vitis vinifera seed oils incorporated into the paste with 5 %
\nconcentration has increased the surface microhardness of white spot lesions in the
\ndebonded enamel surface. Also, these oils exhibited some enhancement on surface
\nroughness of white spot lesions. While, there has been no difference in weight
\npercentages of calcium, phosphorus and fluoride elements in addition to calcium\/
\nphosphate ratio among all groups, remarkable variations have been observed in
\nthe enamel surface morphology after treatment.

\nDentistry\/ University of Mosul
\nThe thesis was accepted after making the recommended corrections<\/p>\n\n\t\t
