College of Dentistry discussed PhD. dissertation entitled \u201cEvaluation of Zinc Oxide
\nEugenol Root Canal Sealer Incorporated with Nano-Hydroxyapatite and L-Tyrosine
\nAmino Acid: An In Vitro Study\u201d, on Thursday, 8 May 2025 forwarded by Rasha
\nMuzahem Maauf. The study evaluated the effect of incorporation of 25nm size fine
\nparticles of synthetic nano hydroxyapatite particles (nHAP) and tyrosine amino acid
\nat different concentrations to the original composition of zinc oxide eugenol sealer by
\nassessing setting time, solubility, flow ability, film thickness working time and
\nradiopacity. Additionally, to compare the biocompatibility and re-mineralizing
\ncapacity of zinc oxide eugenol sealer following the addition of nanohydroxyapatite
\ntyrosine amino acid. It was concluded by the study that the zinc oxide eugenol sealer
\nafter addition of nHAP-Tyr, amino acid converted it from non-bioactive to bioactive
\nsealer type, which is a topic of interest in dental clinics at the present time.
