As part of the University of Mosul\u2019s Continuing Education Program for the 2025\u20132026 academic year, the College of Dentistry \/ Department of Conservative Dentistry organized a training course entitled \u201cTooth Whitening\u201d, held from October 19 to 23, 2025, with the participation of the departments and college\u2019s teaching staff.<\/p>\n

The course aimed to acquaint participants with the latest scientific techniques in the field of tooth whitening, explain the effects of bleaching agents on teeth and their supporting structures, and discuss the advantages and disadvantages associated with vital and non-vital bleaching methods. It also sought to clarify the factors influencing the success of whitening procedures and how to manage tooth sensitivity resulting from them.<\/p>\n

The course included a series of scientific lectures delivered by a distinguished group of faculty members, covering the following topics:<\/p>\n

Effect of Bleaching Materials on Teeth and Supporting Structures \u2013 Assist. Prof. Dr. Ashraf Salim Qasim<\/p>\n

Advantages and Disadvantages of Tooth Whitening \u2013 Lecturer Omar Salah Majeed<\/p>\n

Non-Vital Bleaching \u2013 Assist. Lecturer Mohammed Abduladeem<\/p>\n

Principles of Tooth Whitening \u2013 Assist. Lecturer Mohammed Hazem Qasim<\/p>\n

Factors Affecting Whitening Success \u2013 Assist. Lecturer Ahmed Hazem Mohammed<\/p>\n

Vital Bleaching Techniques \u2013 Assist. Lecturer Alaa Hussein Ali<\/p>\n

Tooth Sensitivity Resulting from Whitening and Its Management \u2013 Assist. Lecturer Israa Mowafaq Atash<\/p>\n

The course was held in the Department\u2019s Seminar Hall, under the supervision and follow-up of the Head and Rapporteur of the Conservative Dentistry Department and the Continuing Education Officer, with direct oversight from the Dean of the College, Assist. Prof. Dr. Neam Riyadh Saleem. The Dean of the College emphasized the importance of such activities in enhancing the efficiency of academic and clinical staff and strengthening their practical skills in the field of cosmetic dentistry.<\/p>\n
