As part of the Continuing Education activities, the Department of Pedodontics, Orthodontics, and Preventive Dentistry organized a training course titled: “Modalities of Enhancing Orthodontic Movement and Retention”.<\/p>\n

The course lasted for five days and featured a series of lectures delivered by the department\u2019s faculty members. The sessions introduced participants to the fundamental principles of tooth movement and the factors influencing it, along with an overview of modern techniques used to accelerate orthodontic movement, such as mechanical, chemical, and physiological stimulation. The course also included presentations on adjunctive aids, including the use of low-level laser therapy, ultrasound waves, and micro-vibrations to enhance treatment efficiency.<\/p>\n

The lectures further addressed the retention phase and the importance of developing an appropriate plan to maintain treatment outcomes, reviewing recent research on permanent and removable retention devices and their role in ensuring post-treatment stability.<\/p>\n

The event concluded with a scientific discussion among attendees on the effectiveness of these modalities in reducing treatment duration and improving clinical outcomes, in line with advancements in the field of orthodontics.<\/p>\n
