In embodiment of the University\u2019s pioneering role in community service, and under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Neam Riyadh Saleem, the College of Dentistry at the University of Mosul received, today Sunday, a delegation of residents from the State Home for Elderly Care, with the aim of completing the previously scheduled stages of their medical treatment.
\nThis step comes as a continuation of the outcomes of the field visit previously conducted by the College to the home. Accordingly, the College mobilized its teaching clinics and specialized staff to provide the following therapeutic services:
\nPreventive treatments: Dental and periodontal cleaning and the maintenance of oral health.
\nSurgical treatments: Performing necessary tooth extractions.
\nProsthodontic rehabilitation: Initiating the fabrication and replacement of missing teeth for the elderly to restore vital functions and improve aesthetic appearance.
\nThis initiative was implemented as part of the Community Service Program of the College, supervised by the Human Rights Unit, the Voluntary Work Unit, and the Scientific Affairs Unit, in fruitful cooperation with the Human Rights Division at the Presidency of the University of Mosul.
\nThe activity was conducted in the presence of the Head of the Human Rights Division at the University Presidency, Dr. Saeed Ikhdida, who commended the humanitarian role undertaken by the College of Dentistry in caring for the most vulnerable segments of Mosul\u2019s community.
\nFor her part, the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Neam Riyadh Saleem, affirmed that this initiative falls within the College\u2019s strategic plan to link academic outputs with the actual needs of society, emphasizing that caring for the elderly and providing free treatment for them is both an ethical and professional obligation that the College is keen to sustain and further develop.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
